Evaluation
When it came to the planning of this project I feel it went very well. This was because I was working with a group of people, so we all had a hand in the project and needed to do something to make the project work. It was this that really made me finish work quickly and efficiently so we could all move onto the next stage.
The timescale given was plenty of time to complete the work. Unfortunately, I had some trouble with my Adobe Audition folder as I did it on a MAC and it didn't transfer over to one of the media computers. I've now learnt my lesson as it wasn't ideal to be redoing work I spent hours on.
In regards to the Contingency plan. If the filming went wrong then we had enough time to re-shoot the scenes. We did end up having to use ADR exclusively as the sound recorded on set wasn't good enough because our filming clashed with another group filming, also the reverb coming from the stairs we shot on was very loud and effect
The shot composition and quality of the camera work was split between all of us. We all had different shots we wanted to do, as we were all editing our own video. So we would take it in turn to get the different shots we needed. I think the quality of the camera shots came out really well and we had a couple of unique shots in there.
When recording sound we did face some problems. I ended up having to use ADR for every scene. The reverb on set was just too much and even if i did try and edit it out the reverb the volume difference is too much. Another challenge was the quietness of the ADR compared to the level me and Ben were speaking at was different to the level we recorded at in the recording booth.
I think the final version turned out ok, if i could change anything i would've made the audio sync perfectly, there is one bit were i would revisit again just to see if i could match the ADR perfectly.
The final sound mix came out well. I feel the various sound effects work well. The balance of the ambiance, music and speech works very well, especially the music its not too loud in the scene. The same goes for the ambiance it makes a real difference to the scene.
if i could improve anything in the project i would redo the ADR and maybe so of the scenes. I would just like to change the tone of some of my lines as i yelled a lot of them, in my ADR i just spoke them.
