GLOSSARY 

A list of new words/ phrases I've learnt throughout the assignment

A-Roll: Footage from camera A that you will use for primary photography. A roll mostly consists of Action and Dialouge scenes. 

B-Roll: Footage from camera B that mainly consists of cutaway shots aswell as alternatiive angles of a subjecr filmed by the main camera

Colour Grading: A post production process that adds / changes the colours on screen. Mostly used to make the picture more pleaseing to look at. 

Cutaways: Cutaways, otherwise known as B-roll footage, are shots that don't add essentially move the story forward but add depth to the film.

Film Dailies/ Rushes: The offical industry standard name for Raw/ Unedited footage that has come straight out of a camera. 

Rough Cut: The first edit you complete in which you show a rough demonstration of footage put together to tell a story.

Rule of Thirds: An imaginary grid that you should always keep in mind whilst filming your scenes. This is reallt useful when setting up an angle or a shit. Youre wanting to kepp tour main focus of the shot inbtween the left or right  and the very middle of the image.
